What Are Awning Windows?

Awning windows are hinged at the top to swing open from the bottom. They operate with an easy-to-use hand crank. They let the fresh air in and keep the elements out. When the window is closed and locked, the dual weather strip creates a weather tight seal. Double locking points mean you can count on your awning window’s security. Awning windows pair well with other replacement windows, especially large or non-operable picture windows.

TRUSCENE® INSECT SCREENS

With over 50% more clarity than our standard screens, Truscene Insect Screens are virtually invisible. Constructed with a micro-fine stainless steel mesh, they let more fresh air and sunlight in, while keeping even the smallest insects out.

Grille Patterns

You choose how many squares comprise each sash.

A classic style with two vertical bars in each window.

A design that always includes two vertical bars and two horizontal bars on each sash that create a “picture frame” look.

This pattern features two horizontal bars and two vertical bars per window instead of per sash.

Interior Wood Grilles

Hardwood grilles allow for easy glass cleaning as the grill snaps into clips on the sash interior that can be easily removed. Available in two widths.

Gilles Between The Glass

This aluminum pre-finished grille is permanently installed between the panes of glass to provide the speedy glass cleaning of a smooth surface. Available in two widths and an array of colors.

Full Divided Light Grilles

A permanently attached exterior Fibrex® grille, an aluminum spacer between the glass, and a permanently applied (or removable) interior grille makes this a visual replication of true divided glass. Also available in two distinct widths.

High Performance™ Low-E4® SmartSun™ glass is the single most energy efficient option we have ever had the pleasure of offering to our customers. Compared to our standard offering, Low-E4® SmartSun™ is 45% more energy efficient during the winter and 70% more efficient during the summertime. It is exceptional in both warm and cold climates and blocks 95% of harmful UV rays from entering the house. Your pocket will feel fuller, and your furniture, artwork, drapes, and carpet will look brighter.

The view from your window stays as clear as if you were looking upon it from the great outdoors with our new TruScene® insect screen. With more than 50% greater clarity than standard insect screens, they are virtually invisible. The TruScene® insect screen is made with micro-fine stainless steel mesh that is a third of the diameter of standard screen wire to let in more sunlight and more fresh air all while keeping out even the smallest insects. Now you can see the great outdoors without seeing the old fiberglass screens.

We're in the process of replacing all the windows on the main floor. Steve Tuttle, the Installation Manager, stopped by this morning to measure all the windows and verify the window choices we made, earlier. Steve arrived exactly on time and well prepared to do a thorough job of measuring for installation. Steve is professional in both attitude and action. This seems to be a trait exemplified by all the employees of Renewal by Andersen of Alaska. Our experience to this point in the process has been fantastic. I highly recommend considering Renewal by Anderson of Alaska if you're considering window replacement.Update 9/3/2021: Our windows are installed and they are absolutely fantastic!! I can't say enough good things about the people who work for Anderson. Derrick measured for my doors and is absolutely wonderful to work with-professional, detailed oriented, and wanting to get things right and this is a challenge in older log homes which I have. When he came, he checked on the windows which he had also measured for just to make sure that they were working well. I requested Renewal by Anderson of Alaska to install a picture window for a circa 1940's log house. Quote process was professional and thorough and Mel Ramos did an excellent job with the proposal and setting up the subsequent filed measurements for window fabrication.Brian Harris did the field measurements and proceeded to do an exacting evaluation and explanation of the process. The age of the log house made the project interesting. Brian's experience with remodels in Alaska allowed him to address certain issues more common to "older" home. Brian also did a professional and efficient job.
